Artist Battle

Tom Rai

Tom Rai, currently known by his stage name T, is a prominent Indian street dancer, freestyle artist, and educator from Darjeeling who rose to national fame on Star Plus’s Dance + Season 6 and won the Red Bull Dance Your Style India 2024 Championship. Born into a military family with a background in football and Mixed Martial Arts, he discovered his passion for dance at age 14 before moving to Mumbai to pursue it professionally, eventually earning the nickname the "Footwork King of India" for his high-energy fusion of hip-hop freestyle, Chicago footwork, breaking, and traditional Indian cultural steps. He represented India at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in Mumbai against global heavyweights, earning widespread international respect and viral acclaim when he selflessly conceded a tie-breaker round directly to legendary popper MT Pop out of sheer respect for his opponent's craft. Today, Rai continues to impact the dance community by working as a commercial choreographer in Mumbai and traveling across India to conduct specialized street dance workshops.
